The Combat Vehicles Research & Development Establishment (CVRDE), a premier laboratory of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), is recruiting ITI Apprentice Trainees for its Avadi, Chennai campus.

📌 Vacancy Details

Total indicative vacancies: 93 posts across 18 trades, including:

• COPA: 13 posts
• Electrician: 12 posts
• Draughtsman (Mechanical): 10 posts
• Fitter: 10 posts
• Electronics Mechanic: 6 posts
• Turner/Machinist/Welder: Multiple posts
• Other trades: Plumber, Painter, Photographer, Book Binder, and more.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Must have passed ITI from a recognized NCVT/SCVT institution (minimum 2-year duration, except for specific trades like COPA, Painter, Plumber, Welder, and Food Production).
• Candidate Type: Only Regular candidates are eligible; private candidates are not allowed.
• Passing Year: Must have passed the qualifying exam in 2023, 2024, 2025, or 2026.

⏳ Age Limit (as on 01-09-2026)

• UR: 18 - 27 Years
• OBC: 18 - 30 Years
• SC/ST: 18 - 32 Years
• PWD: 18 - 37 Years

🗓️ Walk-In Interview Schedule

• Dates: 08-09-2026 and 09-09-2026
• Time: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
• Venue: CVRDE, Avadi, Chennai-600054, Tamil Nadu

1. Shortlisting: Based on marks obtained in the qualifying ITI examination.
2. Interview: Walk-in interview on the specified dates.
3. Joining: Selected candidates will receive their joining letter on the spot.
