Indian Railways operates one of the most rigorous occupational health and medical examination frameworks in the public sector. 3. The Decisive Impact of Color Blindness
Color vision deficiency (Daltonism) is the number one cause of medical rejection in Indian Railways. If an applicant has even a mild red-green color blindness:
- They are instantly disqualified from A1 (ALP), A2 (Station Master), and B1 (Junior Engineer) posts.
- They can only be considered for administrative desk positions under Category C1 or C2 if they selected those preferences during initial form submission.
